2011: A Few Things

1. I can't decide which album I would call the best album of 2011 since there were so many that I enjoyed.

2011's album enjoyables:

Bon Iver - Bon Iver
Alexander - Alexander Ebert
A Creature I Don't Know - Laura Marling
Safari Disco Club - Yelle
Ceremonials - Florence & the Machine
Rolling Blackouts - The Go! Team
Metals - Feist
Last Night on Earth - Noah and the Whale
Lights - Ellie Goulding
Algorithms - Milkman
Helplessness Blues - Fleet Foxes
Never Trust a Happy Song - Grouplove
Siberia - Lights
The Kind is Dead - The Decemberists
Mountaintops - Mates of State [3 stars: not their best album, but still good because it's MOS]

2011's song enjoyables:

Real goodness:

Somebody That I Used to Know - Gotye

Garbage radio goodness:

Love You Like a Love Song - Selena Gomez
Who Says - Selena Gomez
Best Love Song - T-Pain
Work Out - J Cole
What the Hell - Avril Lavigne
Whatever You Like - T.I. [timeless]

2. Last night I came to the realization that an ex-boyfriend may have in his possession one of my favorite sweaters. .. .
[sad]

3. 2011 was the 50 year anniversary of Breakfast at Tiffany's. [A top 3 favorite movie.]
<3

4. It has been a year full of much decision making and much [MUCH] learning. I finally figured out my responsibility is to choose righteously for myself the direction I want to go, not lose sleep trying to figure out the direction I'm supposed to go.

Yadadamean? Maybe not.

5. Matching 2011:
Twin onsies.

Triplet cardigans, white shirts, jeans, brown shoes.

Triplet wolf shirts.

Twin hair x 2.

Twin jackets.

Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of the matching cardigans that Heidi and I have. Or the matching sunglasses. Or the time that Jake and I wore matching black jackets. Or the matching tie dye American flag shirts that TylerA. and I made together.

6. Awkward pose tradition 2011:

Abigail's farewell.

Megan's farwell.

My farewell.

Adios 2011. It was real.

Happy New Year

January has been a curious month. Unsettling, maybe. My habits need a good kick in the teeth and my priorities have got to be rearranged. I've been sitting at this kitchen table for 20 minutes thinking about what I'm going to start doing and when I'm going to start doing it- convenient enough, it reminded me that tomorrow is February 1st. My New Years. Perfect timing!! Right?

Lately, the topic of conquering life one day at a time has been flooding in from all over. This has been beneficial considering I frequently force myself into feeling overwhelmed. I worry about my future; money, education, employment, relationships, etc. So, for the year, I'm stealing the mantra of an older lady I once knew: "I have all the time I need."

I have all the time I need.
I have all the time I need.
I have all the time I need.
I have all the time I need.

Life's bearably chaotic, but I still feel like keeping this in mind will be crucial for survival. Because life comes in 24 hour increments, I have all the time I need to accomplish the things which need to be done.

And zebra footie pajamas!

I love welcoming the new year!

Especially with family! And friends! And Salt Lake City! And dancing! And zebra footie pajamas! And Cardamom bread! And games! And music! And driving! And everything else!

I took both my camera's down for New Years weekend in attempt to record it's events but.. to no prevail. The weekend was really great. How I managed to come out of it with only two pictures, these two pictures:

..I'll never know.

PS. I'm in the process of coming up with resolutions.
PPS. Had I ever backed over a parking lot island before today? Nope. Must I now admit that I have? Yes.

- 2010 -

I have NO IDEA what I want to do with my life but.. in the past little while, I've come up with plenty of things I'd like to change about it. And, I've decided to start all of the changes come New Years- you know, all as New Year's resolutions. My overall goal is- to be a healthy person, in all areas. How possible will that be? I don't know right now, but I guess I'll find out.

These are a few of the things I am going to do starting in 2010:

Go to church, every Sunday.
Go to bed by 11:00 pm on weekdays.
Get up by 8:00 am every morning, except Saturdays.
Talk a lot less.
Limit facebook to 10 minutes (or less) per day.
No T.V., except 90210 of course.
Journal writing.

Can't be too hard, right?
