- Living Of Love -

I'm such a grudge holder and there's so much I need to let go of. I told my sister the other day that yesterday doesn't matter, only today. I think I believe that. People change right? So, I should forgive and forget.

"There’s only one thing here worth hoping for
With Lucifer beneath you and God above
If either one of them asks you what your living of
Say love, say for me love" - The Avett Brothers

As hard as it is to blog without wifi.. It seems even harder to write in a journal. So I have a blog instead of a journal. It's like a time line of the insignificant hang outs of my life. I don't truly express feelings onto this blog as much as I'd like to. About alls I can get out is how I don't know what to do with my life. I feel like if I did more, someone would misinterpret who I am. My painting of life. My attitude.

So I think I'll start a journal. Beginning.. Sunday. I've already got 5+ written in, but I'm pretty sure they're the same as my blog.

"Today I spent time with so-and-so. Tired."

If I ever have kids, and they read my journal, I want them to know how I felt about everything, how I feel about everything. About every day starting a little after age 20 [since I can't turn back time].

I wish I lived anytime before the 1960's.. 1920's.. 1900's.. 1850's even. I would enjoy simple life with no power lines through the trees and sky. No construction on the roads. Not even pavement on the roads! No car problems or employment issues. No such thing as PETA.
For heavens sake-- get rid of PETA.
Deals made by handshakes, not contracts. No such thing as a lawyer. Or a law suit. Live music, and a memory charm that will help me forget that ipods and macbooks ever existed. Trust. Common sense. Loyalty. Patriotism. College for $.20 a semester would be nice too. Or better yet, no college.

Also.. I just really really wish I lived when citizens waved to each other everywhere they went. Not because they knew each other, but because they were friendly people and that's just what they did.

Did anyone else see the sunset tonight? Beautiful! It's lucky I didn't crash 15 times while driving home because I couldn't help but stare at it.

- On A Highway -

Um:

My favorite song this month is definitely Thistled Spring by Horse Feathers:

.. So beautiful.

Growing my hair out is going to be the worst. I'm already getting a little bothered with the length of my hair and it's not even to that obnoxious 'not short but not long' length yet.

The cat has disappeared.

My mom, sisters and I were driving home from my cousins bridal shower and we saw a flaming car on the side of the freeway between N. SLC and Bountiful. I looked at my mom, asking if we should call the police and she said, "This is when you would call the police- but we don't need to because I'm sure others have already called." And, you know what I said? "What?! No! You have to take action! Because everyone thinks that everyone else calls- and no one really does!" [ .. Could be considered a little bit of an overreaction, I guess, Ha.] Anyways.. I called 911 and it was my first time ever! [Besides when I was little, of course.] Courageous, right?

Beyond excited for this:

Yay: Modest Mouse, Girl Talk, and The New Pornographers.
I was so truly sad I missed Girl Talk at the U last year.
So, I'm super glad they're coming again.

My extended family is throwing 3 weddings in June! .. That's a lot.

Learned how to play "Bang!" tonight. Group decision is that the french should never create another cowboy game. And if they do, they should not sell it in the United States unless someone with a proper understanding of the English language proofreads the directions first.

We're having swedish pancakes for breakfast tomorrow morning. It may be the best Sunday of my life.

DAY FOUR

[Sorry It's taking me so long to post all the days--- I just really hate sitting here on my laptop forever.]

It was the last morning at the cabin so after finding Macky a shell to take home- we cleaned up and took off towards Seattle.

Farewell wonderful cabin! P.s. We had to haul those carts up an extremely steep road to our car in the upper parking lot. ..Hmm.. Yeah- can't really think of anything fun about that.

On our way back down the hill with the carts there was a couple walking up the road and the man was carrying the baby and the woman was hauling the cart. What a considerate husband.. ha.

On our way off the island we stopped at Haggen's grocery store for donuts [on my last post I'll tell you how many donuts we ate over the trip- oh I could throw up thinking about it]. They had the yummest selection I ever did see!

^MMMmmyumyumyumyumyumyum.

Checking into the Seattle hotel was a little bit of a struggle. Turns out you can't check-in unless you're 21. Which none of us are. SO-- that was frightening. But after a chat with Carly's dad they let us in. And gave us free parking! (: Which was GREAT since it's $10 per night.

Basically the only other thing we did after that was go on the underground tour- and it was REALLY COOL. I highly recommend it. Do you know what it is? I'll tell you:

Back in 1889 the whole city of Seattle burned down. The town took this as an opportunity to install a new and better sewer system, so they told the merchants they had to wait 10 years [until it was done] before they could build their shops back.

[Side note: The original sewer system ran above ground- and whether you could flush the toilet depended on whether the ocean was experiencing high tide or low tide. If you flushed during high tide- sewage would explode all over you. You can see why they needed a new system.]

The people were upset with this becuase the only reason they were there was to make money- and without shops for 10 years they couldn't do that. So, they built their shops anyways [out of stone this time- not wood]. The city still wanted to go along with their plans to build an underground sewage system- so they built the road around 15 (?) feet up and put it inside. [F.Y.I. I don't think that's the only reason. I also read it was to prevent another fire and prevent flooding from the bay.]

So how that worked was the original 1st floor of the buildings and sidewalks were now under ground and there were either ladders leading up to the road or walkways from the street to the second floor. Pretty neat. I guess for a long while people still used the underground sidewalk areas and often times there'd be way sketchy business going on and crooks would board up the skylights no one could see down. Scandalous!

Umm- yup so that is what the underground tour was. We went through the underground on the original sidewalks and saw the underneath of the original buildings around pioneer square. It was really neat.

^ I don't know why we didn't take more pictures of the tour. All we have is one of us before it and one of an original toilet. HA. Oh well..

Oh also something that happened was- at one point the tour guide turned to us and asked us what we were doing that night and we said we didn't know then she was like-

"Do you have grownups with you?"

and I said

"What? We are grownups."

And to this day- I'm still so mad that she was mocking us- especially since she, herself, was a newly wed school teacher who was probably at oldest age 26. AHH. Ridiculous.

Below = Crab Pot for dinner = Clam Chowder :D

We were going to go to Alice In Wonderland 3D Imax that night but couldn't because we didn't officially have our city passes yet- so we stayed at the hotel and watched 90210 instead. Which was better anyway- NO DOUBT.

The end.. and I don't know if I'll ever post about the last few days so maybe just.. pray that I do. (: ... ha.

- 37th Annual USU Pow Wow -

It's time to do a phone picture update- TOO EXCITING - I know..

First we'll start off with last nights activities. Macky, Kerri, Krishelle, and I went to the 37th annual USU pow wow. Kickin. I bought this neat0 bag-

SHWEET. The evening was full of hollarin, dancin, and cultural attire! - Kerri found her Native American true love (no picture included, wish I would have gotten one though). And I just really was wishing I was Native American so I could dance the joy. I know this video below is crapsters so I'm sorry. It's the best I could do with my phone.

Next we've got a Curves labeling issue I thought was really funny. I understand if no one else gets the humor. Coming to the end of my second year there and I can't believe I've never noticed this-

^See there's a label on the shelf.

^ Now read the label. HA- how professional sounding.

Here are some REALLY HARD TO SEE/ultra dark pictures from one night when Abigail, Macky, Elicia, Emily, and I went to a bonfire with Cody, Richard, Josh.. whoever else... and TONS of random girls that all want Cody's apartment. Ha. Super fun but the ride was miserable-ish. 11 of us in the back of a pickup? Can't decide if that was a good idea or a death wish.

^Me (Mandy), Elicia, Emily

^Macky, Abigail

^ The car crowd.

^Macky, Me, and Emily around the bonfire.

Last picture for now- My tie-dyed shirt finished product. WHOOPIE. That one is just a super lame update so to make up for it- I found a video on my phone from The Sounds concert during Fall semester so I'll post that up too. Because everyone loves The Sounds- FOREVER.

(I had a video of the transvestite opening artist too (Semi Precious Weapons) but decided I'd spare the world of his freakyness.)
