- And Today Was A Day Just Like Any Other -

I ultimately delayed getting to work this morning. I left myself 15 minutes to get there before we were supposed to open (7:30- early!). This was a bad idea because when I went out to my car, there was a solid .25 centimeters of ice on every window. I scraped as much as I could off (.. a few streaks here and there) and when I got inside- I was "hello"d with another large amount of ice on the INSIDE of my windshield. Wow. Tell me that's happened to you before.
---------------Ended up driving to work with my windows down so I could see.

I went grocery shopping twice today- the second time, when I looked down into my bag to get out my wallet, I noticed- whoop whoop,
my zipper was down. Embarrassing!

For the past few hours I've been drawing and erasing abstract bumblebees for my 2d design class. Cool. I'm far from done, but that's OK, because I'm mostly prepared to pull another all-nighter.

In the middle of doing my abstracts, I called my mom to notify her that I wasn't coming home unless there is good Superbowl food. An hour and a half or so, later, Carli Bahm texted me and told me she saw my dad at Smiths. :) I think my family loves me and wants me to come home for a visit.

- Princess Warrior -

I just had an extremely alarming and pretty funny experience.
So I downloaded a bunch of widgets for my computer today during computer science, one of which was some warrior princess 3d destroy the castle type game. Whoo, awesome! Right? After opening it up, I turned to Megan and said "Hey, look at this one.." Two seconds later, an animated women wearing nothing but a see-through curtain and a thong popped up on the screen and started dancing around. HA, so dumb. And worse, I couldn't get rid of her! We were sitting on the third row, in stadium seating and I don't even want to know what the people behind me were thinking when they saw what I had pulled up. I put my hand over the screen and looked at Megan like "Ahh, help!" then closed my laptop and terminated her after class.

- Elicia -

Wrote the nicest tribute to me.. ever. Ha.
Click HERE or scroll down to read it.

Just a fun fact about Elicia-
She has a new found obsession, it is called 007 (on N64). It's 1:20 a.m. and she's been playing all day. Hopefully, she beats the game soon so she can see feel the sun again.

Mandy Allen is the best roommate I could ask for. We often find ourselves laying in bed at 1 in the morning just chatting and laughing our heads off. We have fun when we stay up late together. Our room is almost always a crazy mess, but what college students isn't? She has such a good taste in music. Half of what I currently listen to was introduced to me by her. Her style... is hers. Very unique and awesome. I swear almost everything I use is hers. I feel so bad about that and don't really know why it happens so much. She just has EVERYTHING. haha. Mandy is very talented. She has an extremely artistic side which makes me soo jealous. She can also play the guitar and sing. She sings really good, but doesn't think she can. Well... tells me she doesn't think so. Who knows what she really thinks haha. She is so considerate and so very nice. She does this crazy mexican accent, it's hilarious and always makes me laugh. She gets scared so easily. She hates it when someone walks up the stairs behind her, afraid something might happen. She will not, WILL NOT, watch scary movies, they give her nightmares. Mandy is terrified of earthquakes and is convinced one is soon going to happen. I love to jump out and scare Mandy every chance I get. Mandy is so intelligant and awesome. I look up to her in many ways. I'm so lucky I have a roommate that is so great.

- All The Trees Of The Field Will Clap Their Hands -

I have an extreme dislike for facebook. There are people on there I care to hear about and people on there I don't care to hear about at all. It seems most of the messages I get are about people from category dos. Lame. .. I borderline deleted my account today but then decided I still wanted updates on who's getting married and who's breaking up. HA. .. how redic.

Megan Bell and I went to a meeting today about selling Living Scriptures over the summer. I super hope they like me and send me out to.. somewhere that doesn't have the male species.

My whole apartment is one huge mass heartbreak explosion- It's like everyone around here has hammers and is hitting each others feelings all over the place. It's weird. And gross. And sad. All at the same time.

- Andee -

"Apparently I didn't think it was that big of a deal, because I forgot to tell people."
- Andee Demie

HA.

She freaking hit a pedestrian with her car today.. and didn't tell me until 1:50 a.m.

POST CONVERSATION MANDY/ANDEE INTERVIEW

Mandy Allen- "So Andee, what'd you do today?"

Andee Demie- "Well, I hit a pedestrian. And it was really embarrassing because she started freaking out. I was watching for cars and when there were no cars, I started to go and didn't notice she was crossing and I hit her. And she started cussing and freaking out. And she said "holy shi" and was screaming at me, I didn't hear half the words cus my window was up. And then she said "I'm going to get your license plate number!" and I said "OK" and drove away."

Mandy Allen- "What Andee? You just drove away?" [ROTFL!]

Andee Demie- "I didn't know what to do... I've never hit a pedestrian before."

- The Con By Tegan & Sara -

I listened in,
Yes, I'm guilty of this, you should know this.
I broke down and wrote you back,
Before you had a chance to.
Forget forgotten, I am moving past this,
Giving notice.
I have to go,
Yes, I know that feeling, know you're leaving.

Spelled out your name and list the reasons.
Faint of heart, don't call me back.
I imagine you and I was distant, not existent.
I followed suit and laid out on my back,
Imagine that.
A million hours left to think of you and think of that.

Calm down, I'm calling you to say,
I'm capsized, staring on the edge of safe.
Calm down, I'm calling back to say,
I'm home now and coming around.
Nobody likes to,
But I really like to cry.
Nobody likes me,
Maybe if I cry.

Encircle me,
I need to be taken down.
Encircle me,
I need to be taken down.

I have another assignment at church, I don't think it's even a calling. It's just a task. Every Sunday, I'm supposed attend a genealogy class instead of go to Sunday school. Since yesterday I went to a farewell and I wasn't able to go to the class, today I had an appointment so I could catch up with the class. Weird.

At the appointment, I got assigned a lot of genealogy to do and learned a lot about the PAF genealogy program. Too bad I have a mac and the program won't run on it. And too bad there is a singular genealogy program that runs on a mac and it's ultra pricey. And too bad my mac is having problems anyways- without even having to do genealogy. I just wonder how I am going to do this..

Previous to my genealogy makeup class, I went to the tsc and spent a lot of time there, just thinking about things. While there, I observed the people around me and I experienced the presence of a man exactly like the main character on A Beautiful Mind.

He could have been a professor, but he could have been a student. He wore a blue collared shirt with a rich green sweater over the top. On the table at which he worked, there was a side bag- not like a briefcase, more foreign and ragged looking. He had papers spread all over and he had his hand on his forehead (which was close down by his books). He was older and looked deep into his work. He frequently sent out quick whispers while dodging back and forth between his books. He looked like he was on the edge of a mathematical break through. I sat next to him/ two tables away, for a long time and when I left, he remained..... and he's probably still there. Someone should probably go and ask him when the last time he ate was.

- Call It Off By Tegan & Sara -

I won't regret saying this
This thing that I'm saying
Is it better than keeping my mouth shut
That goes without saying

Call, break it off
Call, break my own heart
Maybe I would have been something you'd be good at
Maybe you would have been something I'd be good at

But now we'll never know
I won't be sad
But in case I go there
Everyday, to make myself feel bad
There's a chance that I'll start to wonder if this was the thing to do

I won't be out long
But I still think it better if
You take your time coming over here
I think that's for the best

Call, break it off
Call, break my own heart
Maybe I would have been something you'd be good at
Maybe you would have been something I'd be good at

But now we'll never know
I won't be sad
But in case I go there
Everyday, to make myself feel bad
There's a chance that I'll start to wonder if this was the thing to do

I'll start to wonder if this was the thing to do

- What's My Age Again? -

I feel like this Saturday was super eventful. Today I went to the bookstore, bought a hoody and tracing paper, watched Elicia and Andee fly down the stairs in sleeping bags, read 3000-0000-000 pages of scriptures, baked an apple pie, dressed up like a freaking Spice Girl, made music videos, delivered 11 pieces of pie, watched Elicia and Des crump it, got a text from Levi- finally, and now I'm blogging and it's only 8:00. SO AWESOME. I think we are going to watch Grease tonight but, until then. what to do?
Back tracking a little bit... I really am surprised at myself for dressing up like a Spice Girl (sporty to be specific). I never thought I would do that again. Especially not at the age of 18.5. Oh well, it was definitely a change from the ordinary and kind of exciting. Hopefully we can get a chord up here soon so I can share the videos with the world by blog and facebook.
I just looked up and Megan Bell is drawing me right now. I look like.. anime or something. It's OK. I can't draw her very good either. Ope, she just threw the pen down. I think she gave up. Ha.
I wish there was a way to put a singular song onto each new post.. because I really would like to do that.

- I Will Follow You Into The Dark -

Tonight I went to a local Radiohead concert, validated my computer science homework, and played Yahtzee (the best game ever). Now I just want to lay down, listen to death cab, and go to sleep. ..

Goodnight.

- She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named -

I'd like to start off by saying- There's nothing like coming home from a really bad day at work, to find every single thing I own, except for my dishes, taken from downstairs and put onto my bed. Neat. OK. Next item of business..

Most often, I come out of work with stories about peoples children, students, political views.. and other good stuff. But today I came out with a singular story about one mean woman who undoubtedly beat out anyone else I've ever met at making me feel so miserable in such a short amount of time.

My job-
I'm a circuit trainer. I'm paid (my minimum wage) to sign members up, keep a good atmosphere, and help the ladies be successful. Part of helping these ladies lose weight, is making sure they are using the machines the correctly. This can be uncomfortable at times, correcting members, but it's something that I'm obligated to do and most woman are thankful for it. They would rather be corrected and successful than end up with a broken neck or pulled muscle because we didn't butt in.

My most common way of fixing poor machine behavior is by coming up next to the member and asking them if it's OK if I show them something they can change to have a better workout. Then I start telling them whether they want me to or not. The most common mistakes I fix are- not lifting elbows on the chest/back and not flexing feet on the adductor/abductor.

Today's case was that of the 'not flexing feet on the adductor/abductor'.

When she (who-must-not-be-named) came into my work, she didn't sign in. So, when she started working out, I went over and started trying to make conversation. I asked her what her name was and then asked if I'd met her before because I didn't remember if I had. She said we'd met the previous week and I apologized for not recognizing her and justified by letting her know I meet so many woman, it's sometimes hard to remember.

She went around the circuit her first time and continued onto her second. The whole time I watched, debating whether I should inform her of the importants of the recovery stations (she was skipping them) but I decided I would tell her next time she came in. I should of made the same decision, not to correct her, when she got to the adductor/abductor. When she was midway through using the machine, I went over to her and politely and kind of jokingly asked if i could give her a tip. After telling her, she fixed it for .05 seconds then went back to her old ways.

10 or so minutes later, she was on her way out and she came up to me. She handed me a travel pass and I realized she was from hyrum, so I asked her how it was over there. she said good.. then instantly bit my whole face off.

She told me how incredibly rude I was for singling her out in the circuit the way I did and that I was completely inconsiderate for correcting her both times she came in. Lovely. So I asked her when she came in last and she said Thursday. Well.. I didn't work Thursday. So trying to make her not feel as stupid as she was, I said that Megan had worked Thursday but we look alike so I could see how she mixed us up (we do NOT look alike). She then assured me that it was me working. Not someone else. Once again I told her I didn't work Thursday and she just cut me off and said "maybe it was Tuesday" and continued on about how rude I was. I did work Tuesday. But I had not met this lady before. She started telling me that I should have chosen a different way to correct her and that I should of passed her something to read. HA. A secret note? Yeah that's not.. weird and obvious.

I went to the back of the room and got her a paper explaining the muscles and how to use each machine and made her a photocopy so she could go home and read it. I then apologized for humiliating her and pointing her out, I let her know that I didn't mean anything by it and that I correct everyone that way. She-who-must-not-be-named then told me that "she's a teacher and she would NEVER point someone out" the way I pointed her out, because it was so inconsiderate.

At that point I asked her if there was one thing I could tell her right then, before next time, so I wouldn't have to point her out. She said yes with an eye roll. A mean one. And this is how it went-

"It's really important that you use the recovery stations becau-.."

"YEAH WELL IM NOT GOING TO. I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PATIENCE TO JUMP AROUND ALL OVER THOSE."

"OK well.. "

.. She-who-must-not-be-named starts walking out the door.

"OK, once again, I'm sorry about pointing you out. I will try not to next time, and I don't know if I ever told you my name but it's Mandy."

"Mandy?"

"yup"

"OK."

"Bye she-who -must-not-be-named, drive safe."

Then I just about burst into tears because she really hurt my feelings. I try my best to be nice there, and yeah I'm a little awkward sometimes but that's not the same as being a flat out jerk.
I wonder if people (like she-who-must-not-be-named) who cause misery are ever happy themselves.

- Write About Me -

So I wanna post something profound every day.. but so far I've been having a really hard time. It's so difficult. All day I've been asking people what should I write about, and I've gotten some ideas but most of what I've been told is "Write about me!". So today I plan to write a little about everyone I've come across today.

Megan Bell- We are best neighbors. She might as well move in with us in p2 because she's here everyday and almost every night. She laughs at most things, which makes life better. She's one of the only people in Logan with a good taste in music and one day we hope to grow seeds in miniature pots together.

Elicia Sadler- She is my roommate, she's really awesome. She sleeps in until noon and then spends the rest of her day dreaming of Jordan Groff, eating canned fruit, and doing good deeds for everyone else. Or something. Ha. She periodically jumps out and scares me which.. sucks.

Megan King- She's so good looking. All the guys want her, it's redic. She spends most her days studying and going to bed early. Which is cool, if you're into that kind of thing. We love her and her obsessions with children, socks and eating gold fish.

Maren Hill- Definitely the greatest girl ever. There are plenty of things I love about her like.. her knowledge of marriage, her belief in what's good, her ability to drink a raw egg, her curiosity, and her occasional fun facts. I want her to marry into my family.

Andee Demie- Her food always expires before she eats it and she thinks she always wins at 007. The end. Ha.. P.S. I'm way super duper glad she moved in.

Alonzo Rose- I've been told not to use too many curse words so I think all I can say is.. He's 25 and his company is always greatly appreciated. He's usually polite and I like when we play the guitar together (+ Megan Bell).

Jake Metcalf- The new guy on the block. We've only just become official (facebook) friends, but I already respect him because he knows his music.

Erin Hammond- I love Erin's hair. And she has some nice blogging ideas. She should come around more often.

Yup. Time to play Settlers of Catan so.. this is the end for now.

- The Friendship Update -

I'm not sure if the words of my blog will ever meet the eyes of other people but I guess that's OK, this post can be for me.

Change is constant, something that can't be avoided. And I've notice that evermore as the year goes on. Throughout these last months, weeks, days, life has turned good friends into people whose feelings I no longer recognize, and people I hardly knew into good friends that I'll never forget. I love people from both of the above groups, but no matter how I love them, sadness still links me to both.

I miss friends that change for the worse, people that lose grip on life and the important s of living it. There are so many beautiful and real experiences and feelings found in diving deep, that to see my good friends skim across the surface with nothing but the physical world and false stimulus just breaks my heart. I feel like a lot of things have taken part in the change of these people with one major contributor being college. Though it is something that releases us from a somewhat 'higher authority', it is also something that binds us with arrogance and foolishness. How do we feel as if we rule the world when we are so young and just barely beginning to learn what creates it? I'm beginning to think that even more so than learning math, science, and language, we need to take courses on class and how to discover our true character. It seems these things are disappearing and I hope that my desire for both those things never does. I never want to feel I need the world to find happiness.

I've made some new friends this year. Ones that still leave me with hope for our generation and don't leave me feeling empty inside after spending time with them. These people are really important to me, they include my family (OK, didn't just barely meet them, they've been around for a while), my roommates, my school neighbors, and old classmates. I've got a best friend, Carli, who can fight through weaknesses like Jackie Chan fights through ninjas. She's strong, beautiful, honest and she never gives herself enough respect or credit, which I hate because she's worth more than she could ever know. I have 1..2..3..4..5..6.. .. IDK, great college roommates and neighbors that can even turn doing nothing- into doing something (that's how cool they are). And I'm more than happy to admit that 'my college experience would not be the same without them'. They are the face to my book ..ha. And one in particular is the craft to my craft store (Megan).

So far I've mentioned a few of my friendly's, but I recently ended a relationship with a seriously great guy and I think he totally deserves some credit under the 'people I hardly knew turned into good friends that I'll never forget' group.

After going to school together for.. forever, him and I finally became friends, senior year, through the help of Mrs. Bean and her creative writing class (shout out to her). Ha. We were friends into summer and after becoming very fond of each other, we then went our separate ways to college. blah, blah blah. Long story short, he's just.. a very wonderful, sincere, beautiful, talented guy that can make me laugh. I love spending time with him, but like I mentioned earlier, change is constant so we aren't together, but we are still good friends and I hope we remain so for a long time.

OK, that was super long but basically I just blogged. Ha. And I just am thankful for all my friends, old and new. I get bummed sometimes about the choices and switch ups of life but I wouldn't exchange any of my peeps for.. other peeps. And now I have to go to bed because I gotta drive up to Logan tomorrow in time for my 9:00 class. Yeah..

- Post 1 -

So I made a blog, mostly because I was peer pressured into it by my dear friends- Carli and Megan. Why do people even have blogs? Um.. I donated plasma today.
